Writing this exactly a week after the event above. I’m still amazed and honored that Hochschild agreed to do it, and the result was kind of a blast. I couldn’t have asked for a better welcome of the book into the world.
The video shows most of the Zoom event, though not the Q&A and Chat questions– a few of which came from actual servicemembers. The following morning, of course, I thought about so much that didn’t make it in: the breadth and power of 21st-century organizers inside the military; threads of trauma and gender-dissent; the power and persistence of veteran storytelling. What else do you think we missed, that I should include in events to come?
